if you asked me what changed me, I'll say that it was everything.
That was meant to anyway.
I hope you'll accept me for what I am, not what I was, because I realised that that enthusiasm might be just a ploy conjured up by my subconscious to hide me.
Or maybe what I'm now is that mask.
I don't know anymore.
I want my old self back,
but I think this new self is better for everybody.
Yes, I'm still hyper. Still enthusiastic. Just to different people.
I'm not so gullible anymore.
Because I was hurt.
Very badly. Extremely badly, and I don't think that scar can just be erased like that.
Like that one on my forehead, a blunt reminder that if I jump around on the bed, I'll most probably hurt myself.
But from this hurt, I realised that I must have hurt others before.
In primary school especially.
So I have to mask so as to hurt others that much.
It's better this way.
I won't get hurt because the person you're toying with, the person you think is me just isn't me anymore. Either that or I have covered it with a translucent mask, so that only some of me shows and the rest hides in oblivion.
